Disney Theatrical to Share Profits With Original Frozen Cast

Broadway.com has confirmed with a production spokesperson that Disney Theatrical will now follow suit with its much-anticipated upcoming stage adaptation of Frozen.“We treasure the relationship with our actors and stage managers and are proud to have hired several hundred of them on Broadway alone,” said Thomas Schumacher, President of Disney Theatrical Productions, in a statement. “We’re thrilled that, should Frozen reach success, our Equity collaborators will share in the profit.”This marks the first time a Broadway production not developed as a workshop has offered backend participation before the show has begun. Disney Theatrical has previously paid some sort of extra compensation for success—Aida’s development actors received an annual bonus for each of its four years on Broadway. Now, for the small print. From this month on, Equity members who participate in any of the development, pre-Broadway, or the original Broadway cast of Frozen will share in 0.5% of net profits of the first three English language productions, for the first ten years of profitability. If a member participates in development but does not go on to join the pre-Broadway or Broadway company, he or she will remain in the participation pool and also may be eligible for a buyout depending on the terms of the hire. The cast has not yet been announced for the show, which will be directed by Michael Grandage. Based on Disney’s Oscar-winning musical, the tuner will begin performances at Broadway’s St. James Theatre in spring 2018. The production is set to make its world premiere at the Buell Theatre in the Denver Center for the Performing Arts in August 2017.The Frozen stage adaptation will feature the beloved tunes (and several new ones) by married songwriting duo Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez and a book by screenwriter Jennifer Lee.last_img read more

Uncertainty, unpredictability, and randomness all underscore the storm forces that threaten to destroy them.To thrive and survive the maelstrom requires more than greatness from the individuals entrusted to lead in this type of world.“Great” doesn’t cut it.We need leaders that are stand-outs; people who cannot be compared to others because their distinctiveness defies any standard. Here are 10 practical and proven attributes of the stand-out leader that I have discovered:The stand-out leader:Creates discontinuity in the organization to create opportunities for competitive advantage and growth. They are not content with managing the momentum of the business. They cause interventions that force people to challenge the status quo and think differently. They don’t wait for a reason to change; they “force” change and make it integral to the organization’s DNA. read more

Moyes taking blame for United problems

| stvimrwvz

first_img United head into Tuesday’s Champions League encounter with Shakhtar Donetsk in the throes of a crisis, following back-to-back home defeats in the Premier League. Moyes was not even born when the Red Devils last lost three successive games at Old Trafford, in the autumn of 1962, and if it happens again, United will lose top spot in Group A and be pitched into a nasty knockout-round clash with one of Europe’s heavyweights. Given they are currently occupying ninth spot in the table, the situation is barely comprehensible at a club so used to success, boasting a squad that, with the exception of Paul Scholes’ retirement, is the same one that lifted the championship by an impressive 11 points last season. Various theories have been put forward for the sharp downturn in fortunes and Moyes himself has identified a number of key areas where improvement is required. But to the Scot’s credit, he is refusing to hide behind excuses. “I take complete responsibility for the results,” he said. “It is tough because the expectancy is to win all the games and the results have not been good in the Premier League. “There is a bit of everything we could do with doing better. “Generally we’d like to play better. We would like to pass it better, to create more chances, I’d like to defend better when those moments arise. “I don’t think it is any one thing, it is all round we are trying to improve.” David Moyes has admitted he takes full responsibility for Manchester United’s current troubles. Press Association As Moyes pointed out, it is only a month since United defeated Arsenal, and a fortnight after the five-goal hammering of Bayer Leverkusen that will go down as one of the club’s great European away performances. What has alarmed supporters almost as much as those defeats by Everton and Newcastle is the manner of the losses. At the weekend in particular, once Yohan Cabaye scored, the lack of a response was strange for a club so used to dragging out late victories. “I agree,” said Moyes, when asked whether his team needed to show more belief and conviction. “In recent games we haven’t quite finished the games the way we would have liked to. “We have tried to make changes to improve things but it hasn’t quite happened.” It seems to underline a general belief that the squad Moyes inherited, for all its championship-winning credentials, is lacking in quality. Asked to clarify a comment earlier in his reign that his squad had the quality to compete, Moyes avoided giving a direct answer. “The question I got asked was whether the squad was big enough,” said Moyes. “I said, yes, the squad was big enough.” But when question was changed to “is it good enough”, Moyes merely repeated: “I believe the squad is big enough.” The pain is sharp, though. “The players are hurting because they are used to winning,” said Moyes. “When they don’t win that hurts them. They care very much about the team and the club. “They are good lads and they will respond in the right way.” The point was reinforced by Brazilian full-back Rafael: “Of course it hurts,” he said. “As a United player I want to win every single game. We must work more and improve ourselves.” Yet despite this apparently bleak backdrop, Moyes claimed he felt uplifted when he left the stadium on Saturday because he had seen enough to raise his own morale. “The game raised my spirits,” he said. “It just made me more determined that we improve and get better.” Moyes has spoken on a number of occasions this term of having to ride a few blows before he gets into the position he wants. He has also said previously it will take more than one transfer window to sort out the issues he clearly believes have been inherited. And all caused by the retirement of one man. “The biggest transition is that a manager who was here for 26 years has now moved on and a new manager has come in,” said Moyes. “It is a transitional period for the whole football club, not just me and the players.” last_img read more

first_imgWeeks of sunshine, good temperatures and calm conditions were long gone by the time Baldwinsville welcomed all of the Salt City Athletic Conference’s cross country teams to Wednesday’s annual league championship meet. With steady rain churning up mud all over the Durgee Junior High School course, it took hard work for both the boys and girls Bees to register fourth-place finishes in both the overall standings and the SCAC Metro division.B’ville’s boys were again led by the duo of Jack Michaels and Colin Delaney, each of whom posted top-10 finishes. Michaels, in 16 minutes, 49.8 seconds, got to seventh place, beating out Delaney, who was eighth in 16:54.5. McKenzie Schmidt led the Bees, the junior going 20:55 flat for 18th place overall and 14th place among SCAC runners as F-M’s Claire Walters claimed the title in 18:03.2.Vivian Holden-Betts got 25th place for B’ville in 21:17.6, while Anna Conklin was 29th among team runners in 21:32.5. Margaret Solomon, in 22:04.1, beat out Sarah Fawwaz (22:12.3) for 37th place as Sage Springsteen was 43rd in 22:35.5 and Annabelle Horan posted 23:34.3. Tags: Baldwinsvillecross country Share this:FacebookTwitterLinkedInRedditComment on this Story Among the SCAC Metro sides, B’ville’s total of 85 points was just behind Liverpool (76) and Cicero-North Syracuse (78) as state Class A no. 1-ranked Fayetteville-Manlius won with 23 points, with Sam Otis (who won in 15:44.8), Geoff Howles and Peyton Geehrer sweeping the top three for the Hornets.Behind Michaels and Delaney, the Bees had James Cary finish 24th overall in 17:49.4. Solomon Holden-Betts had a 30th-place clocking of 18:07.2 that put him 24th in the SCAC Metro race, while Nate Hludzenski (18:26.4) just beat Aidan Micho (18:27.2) to the line and Tom Hagopian finished in 18:31.6.The girls SCAC race followed and, as the rain picked up in volume, B’ville again finished fourth behind F-M, C-NS and Liverpool, this time placing all five of its top runners within the top 40 overall.last_img read more

How well did Syracuse shoot from 3 in Atlantis? Probably even better than you think

first_img Published on November 28, 2015 at 11:26 am Syracuse made 34 total 3s in its three wins at the Battle 4 Atlantis. Yes, 34. Yes, in three games. And while that number is impressive on its own, it gets even more gaudy when you look at the last five seasons of SU basketball. By averaging more than 11 3s a game in three straight games, and days, the Orange (6-0) was able to knock off two ranked opponents — No. 18 Connecticut and then No. 25 Texas A&M in the championship game Friday — and prove its legitimacy in the early going.Below is a breakdown of how Syracuse’s perimeter performance in the Battle 4 Atlantis compared to its hottest shooting nights of the last five seasons. The statistic presented with each game is 3-point field goals made by the Orange, according to College Basketball Reference’s game logs. The three-game totals from past years aren’t in consecutive games (like the Battle 4 Atlantis) but rather the three games in which the Orange made the most 3s that season.Read all of our Battle 4 Atlantis coverage here.2015–16 — Battle 4 AtlantisSyracuse 83, Charlotte 70 (Nov. 25, 2015): 14Syracuse 79, Connecticut 76 (Nov. 26, 2015): 9Syracuse 74, Texas A&M 67 (Nov. 27, 2015): 11Total: 34AdvertisementThis is placeholder text2014–15Syracuse 78, Colgate 43 (Dec. 22, 2014): 10Syracuse 70, Florida State 57 (Jan, 11, 2015): 10Syracuse 86, Wake Forest 83 (OT) (Jan. 13, 2015): 9Total: 29 (Five fewer than Battle 4 Atlantis)2013–14Syracuse 93, Binghamton 65 (Dec. 7, 2013): 13Syracuse 82, Cornell 60 (Nov. 8, 2013): 10Syracuse 61, Notre Dame 55 (Feb. 3, 2014): 10Total: 33 (One fewer than Battle 4 Atlantis)2012–13Syracuse 62, Pittsburgh 59 (March 14, 2013): 12Syracuse 91, Arkansas 82 (Nov. 30, 2012): 11Syracuse 108, Monmouth 56 (Dec. 8, 2012): 11Total: 34 (Same as Battle 4 Atlantis)2011–12Syracuse 84, Eastern Michigan 48 (Dec. 29, 2011): 13Cincinnati 71, Syracuse 68 (March 9, 2012): 13Syracuse 88, North Carolina State 72 (Dec. 17, 2011): 11Total: 37 (Three more than Battle 4 Atlantis)2010–11Syracuse 97, Morgan State 55 (Dec. 20, 2010): 12Syracuse 100, Colgate 43 (Dec. 11, 2010): 11Villanova 83, Syracuse 72 (Jan. 22, 2011): 10Total: 33 (One fewer than Battle 4 Atlantis)Why this mattersEven if the Orange improved its national reputation with its Battle 4 Atlantis victory, it still has a small handful of deficiencies that could be problematic moving forward. The biggest is its thin front court that had trouble on the defensive glass as the opponents got bigger and better. Another is how, right now, Syracuse is really leaning on a six-man rotation that includes 6-foot-9 center Dajuan Coleman. Coleman is coming off two knee surgeries and a 22-month recovery from the second, and it’s hard to say what SU will get from him in a given night. But if the Orange can shoot the ball relatively close to how it did in Atlantis, the team’s shortcomings will continue to be masked. SU head coach Jim Boeheim has repeatedly said his team will beat good squads if it shoots well from 3. That was the winning formula in Syracuse’s first two real tests of the young season, and could prove a reliable one moving forward. Comments Facebook Twitter Google+last_img read more
